So vampires. Vampires come from a lot of different places, a lot of different sources of myth. One of them is Elizabeth Bathory, who believed she could remain young by bathing in the blood of virgins. She killed as many as 650 girls for this purpose.

I don't advocate that. (do I need to make that clear?) But the idea of bathing in blood... well, it's very intimate.

So for today's request, I tried to update the idea to a more consensual situation. A more leather-centric example.

Is this a re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty? I don't think it is, though there are probably some similarities.

Mostly, this is a sequel. The original story, The Slave Statue, had an ending I was very proud of. I thought it was a beautiful bit, a nice question of whether or not anything had happened, if it was just a very pleasant way of helping someone deal with a bad situation. I didn't want to write the sequel, because I didn't want to change that ending.

So maybe it's better to think of this as a different tale altogether. Or maybe it isn't. I suppose that's up to you. In any case, I hope you enjoy it.

This story developed very differently than I expected. Initially, I was going to have the main character be a vampire, then a vampire hunter, then a normal person. Then the vamp would be the top, the human the bottom. Then they would both be vamps. Eventually, I settled on the vamp masochist and the human sadist. But I liked both perspectives. So what to do?

I did them both. I don't usually like switching narrators mid-story, but it was fun to experiment with this.

Today's story is not for the faint of heart. It involves torture to a level that goes way beyond safe and sane (but remains consensual). Hopefully, I didn't go too far. As I said to someone earlier, it's a fine line between "wow, that's hot" and "hey, didn't Eli Roth direct that?"

Hopefully, I stayed on the good side of the line.

Sometimes, I can't sleep. Usually it's just discomfort and every day insomnia. But tonight, it was a story. A story that had to be told.
